Community Outreach

Several of our staff members are involved in community outreach programs.  We encourage Scout troops, public schools, preschools, breed clubs and 4H groups to contact our doctors or staff to see how we can help your children or club.  Our goal is to educate pet lovers about a variety of topics.  We have taught people of all ages, from three year old preschoolers to middle-aged breed club members, on subjects ranging from safety around animals, preparing for a career in veterinary medicine, and basic pet first aid.

Additionally, our professional staff have attended events to help safeguard animal participants.  In September 2010, Dr. Allison Mayo and Andrea Tiede, LVT, attended the Lake Ridge Doggie Paddle to provide on-site first aid to the joyful swimmers.  This was their third year volunteering their time for this enjoyable outing for dogs and dog lovers.  Our doctors and technicians also work with our local animal shelters on request, providing medical advice and services at low to no cost to the homeless pets who end up there.

Please contact us if you know of an event or a group who would benefit from our knowledge.
